You don't like that, do you, Mr. Undead Marine! RRRRRR!'"

Cold Turkey

Sean, the thing is, a lot of people who want to be successful don’t really think about what they’d have to do to be successful, just the end result. Sure, put on a suit, shave off the beard, act really phony and insincere, do everything your bosses want, put in lots of overtime, find out your bosses likes and dislike and make them your own, and you’ll zoom up to a higher position.

And you won’t like who you’ve become, and there will be no honesty in it.

Besides, I’m lazy.

Or perhaps singleminded is a better phrase. I get very focussed on whatever I’m doing, to the exclusion of all else. Programming, reading, listening to music, playing a game, whatever. And what I get focussed on is rarely work related. Usually isn’t household chore related, either, which is why my apartment gets so cluttered.

At any rate, though, let’s continue with the John Lennon songs. Thought I’d play Cold Turkey today. Initially I found a video of this song, and it was good, but there was this horrible screeching in the background. I figured it was feedback on a mike. Took me half a minute to place it. It was Yoko.

So I found a better recording, sans screeching. And sans the beard John had in the first one, too. This is live in Madison Square Garden in New York, with Wayne ‘Tex’ Gabriel on lead guitar, and Elephant’s Memory backing him. Enjoy.
