Wonder, Shadow, and Troubles

Posted by shanoah on March 19, 2009

You know, I really did like the Blowers Daughter. And, as you may have guessed, I’m staying with my Fraggle Rock theme for the moment. I was actually planning on having this be the last of my series of Fraggle Rock posts for the moment, but I wasn’t able to squeeze one or two songs I really wanted to play in this one. Which includes the one that started me on the whole Fraggle Rock kick…

So the next Fraggle Rock post will be the last for a while.

First, we have a nice blues number from the trash heap. One of the comments on this youtube clip suggested that Tom Waits could do a good cover of this song, and that sounds about right to me. So here’s “I’ve Seen Troubles”.

And here is a maudlin number, “Bring Back the Wonder We Knew Long Ago”. It’s so sad and touching that I can’t resist it. And, well, the song title is awesome.

And I’ll close this post with Mokee singing “Sunlight and Shadow”. As you might have noticed, the themes of these three songs fit well together. The main song I left for my next post seemed too upbeat to go with these… 🙂
