Santa’s Beard

Posted by shanoah on December 17, 2008

I’ll admit that when I think of heavy metal, homosexual is not the first word that comes to mind. Though perhaps it should be.

I do like Atom and His Package, though, and they fall right in line with They Might Be Giants for me, in the genre of Weird Guys Singing Into Microphones. So I thought playing a They Might Be Giants song would be a good transition, and as it happened, I remembered a Christmas song of theirs.

Santa’s Beard – They Might Be Giants

This is from a concert in 2006. Thematically, this song rather reminds me of a song I seem to recall mentioned in a Bloom County cartoon, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (And I Blew Him Away).  Infidelity and Santa Claus go really well together, don’t they?

This is also one of these songs that they don’t play that often…
