11-23-08 The Muppet Movie – The Rainbow Connection

Posted by Sean on November 23, 2008

Well, Shanoah, Sesame Street first aired in 1969, so that’s almost forty years of material. And if we include Jim Henson’s other work, like I’m doing today, which stretches all the way back to 1954’s Sam and Friends…

We could be on this thread for a while.

Anyway, this is The Rainbow Connection, from 1979’s The Muppet Movie. It’s one of those songs that the hip kids like to laugh at, like those of Duran Duran, Big Country and Thomas Dolby, because it’s not hip and ironic, and you laugh along with them… but when they leave the room you say, “Yeah, that’s a good song.”
