Can You Picture That?

Posted by shanoah on October 16, 2008

Oh, I’ve been following the stock markets gruesome dive, Sean. Partially, of course, because I do own a bit of stock. Not enough to bankrupt me, but a bit.

Mostly for the same reason you slow down and watch a road accident, though. It’s fascinating in a morbid way.

And of course, I’ve been passing the time by listening to revolutionary songs you won’t find on Youtube.

No, I won't can't give it a rest!
Let me rant, just get it off my chest.
It's my slant, it's what I do best.
I protest!

But, as I said, that isn’t on youtube. The muppets, on the other hard, are, and I’ve been enjoying watching them. So on to Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (which is such an awesome band name):

(from the Muppet Movie)

Hurray for clever plot devices. I can’t really pin down why this song makes me so happy, but it does. It may partially be because of the clever lyrics:

Everybody's lover, everybody's brother, I wanna be your lifetime friend.
Crazy as a rocket, nothin' in my pocket, I keep it at the rainbow's end.
I never think of money, I think of milk 'n honey, grinnin' like a Cheshire cat.
I focus on the pleasure, somethin' I can treasure, can you picture that?
Can you picture that?

Or it may just be the shear chaos being invoked. And the muppets are just so much fun to watch…
