The Lines

Posted by shanoah on September 16, 2008

A song called Down the Line? You know, there are a lot of songs with lines in the title, aren’t there? And being fond of a few of them, that sounds like a reasonable theme for today.

First, how about some Gerry Rafferty?

Right Down the Line – Gerry Rafferty

I think I’ve mentioned what a great musician Gerry Rafferty is before. This is actually the only song of his that hit #1. It was released the year I was born, actually, 1978, on “City to City”.

Down the Line – Jose Gonzalez

While this may share the same title, this clearly is not the same you were listening to, Sean. It’s a good one, though.

And don’t ask me about that weird mask he’s wearing.

Draggin’ the Line – REM

REM’s version of this song is a cover of a song by Tommy James. I actually prefer the deeper sound of the REM version. It does kind of bug me that whoever ripped this copy played with a usb cord on their computer near the end, but I didn’t see another copy… 😦
