Silly Season – More Political Silliness

Posted by shanoah on September 7, 2008

Well, it’s distracted from the whole mess in Minneapolis pretty well, Sean. Still, you’re right. I don’t really feel like we’re in a democratic country right now; more like we’re going through the motions when the rot’s already taken us from within.

As far as what Palin brings to the table, well, she’s not McCain, while still being controllable. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more songs in favor of her, like this early one:

The Palinator (cooking4dads)

They’re hoping that you’ll overlook or ignore the fact that she comes attached with McCain. (And you know, ever since I noticed it the other day, I’m having trouble ignoring that the name ‘McCain’ literally means son of Cain, the first murderer. Means nothing, I’m sure).

But this comes along with him: (Election08)

And, you know, I really think this video’s well done. Of course, I still have trouble with the sort of enthusiasm some people have for Obama:

I Just Heard a Man Named Obama (PaulAldrichComedy)

(This song, of course, is parodying Maria from West Side Story). Though he has attracted some rather good music to be done in favor of him. I rather like this German number:

Ich will Obama als Mann – Mans Destiny (nasowatne)

Of course, the sexy ladies silhouettes have a lot to do with that, as does my having no idea what they are saying.

All in all, this sums it up somewhat:

Stuck With Obama – Mike Agrelius and M. Spaff Sumsion (posted by wabr6)

And that we are; stuck with Telecom immunity, and god knows what else….

  1. Hello.

I would like to put a link to your site on my blog roll if you want to do the same for mine. It would be a good way to build up both of our readerships.

    thank you.
