You don't like that, do you, Mr. Undead Marine! RRRRRR!'"

7-16-08 Squarepusher – My Red Hot Car

Posted by Sean on July 16, 2008

And from circles we go to squares… Squarepusher, that is, with My Red Hot Car, off 2002’s Do You Know Squarepusher.

Courtesy of sparced. By the way, the video’s worksafe, but not the song, for occasional use of a Very Bad Word.

The video was apparently made by the Rio de Janieran “design collective” Nakd. It has only part of the song, but its animation technique and use of iconography caught my eye.

My Red Hot Car seems to be a lightning rod for striking videos… possibly because it’s so ambiguous and low-key, not to mention repetitive. You can slap up almost any kind of insanity on the screen, and it’ll work.

Here’s an example posted by frenchiefries.

And another posted by dub0badger.

And finally, filmmaker Kurt Miller (handle: millkurt) shows off mad video editing skeelz and hot kung fu action in his video.
