5-12-08 MC 900 Ft. Jesus – The City Sleeps

Posted by Sean on May 12, 2008

Woo hoo! I got a comment yesterday! But not just any comment.

You may remember a post from a while back about MC 900 Ft. Jesus’ I’m Going Straight to Heaven. Well, yesterday, I got a comment on that post from MC 900 Ft. Jesus:

Stumbled across your site and found myself … and the Beatles. Sweet!

To celebrate (and yes, I am that pathetic), your neat thing today – from me, at least – is a video for MC 900 Ft. Jesus’ The City Sleeps, off 1991’s Welcome to My Dream. Specifically, it’s from that interesting subset of music videos made, not by the pros, but by fans. Sometimes they’re lead balloons, but you occasionally run across something intriguing, like this, from mikeandmitch. Sez he/she/it/they who made this video:

Fire. This may serve as a good blanket explanation for a great many things. I had much surplus FX video and MC900 foot jesus did not seem to have a video for this tune. Here is my humble tribute. Great music indeed.

In other words, you’re pyros. And that’s why we love ya, because fire is cool.

Oh, and to Elliot Smoke of The Knockouts – don’t worry, I’ll have something up for you guys soon, too.

The Wurzels

Posted by shanoah on May 12, 2008

Here we are, another of those Mondays, where, as usual, I don’t really have much time to come up up with a post. So, for reasons unexplained, I decided to post some songs by the Wurzels:

OOH ARR! Just A Little Bit – The Wurzels

No, they aren’t pirates, though they may say “Arr!” a lot. This is a later remix they did of the song, incidentally.

Combine Harvester – The Wurzels

Do you remember my post about Melanie, and the song “I’ve got a brand new pair of roller skates (And you’ve got a brand new key”)? Yep, they’ve parodied it unmercifully here.
