10-13-08 The Iron Maidens – The Number of the Beast

Posted by gavortnik on October 13, 2008

Well, Shanoah, you do know that “Engel“ is German for ”angel”, right? And when I hear “angel”… Well, you know how us anti-Christian Satanic metalheads are (or at least, how the Moral Majority and the PMRC think we are). Suddenly I’m pulling out Iron Maiden’s The Number of the Beast and headbanging like I still own a pair of ripped jeans. Yeah Bruce! Sing it for me!

Wait a minute… this doesn’t sound like Bruce Dickinson. And the rest of Iron Maiden have funny shapes, almost like they’re…

Ew! Girls!

This band is actually The Iron Maidens, who like to bill themselves as the “World’s Only Female Tribute to Iron Maiden” (and if they aren’t, then they definitely have the best name). Lead singer Aja Kim aka Bruce “Lee” Chickinson doesn’t quite have Dickinson’s pipes (although, to be fair, few people outside of La Scala have Dickinson’s pipes). But it looks like they put on a killer show, with monsters and devils and all kinds of grindhouse madness.

And even if you don’t like ‘em, you gotta love what they did to Eddie:

By the way, Number of The Beast is off The Iron Maidens’ 2005 album The Iron Maidens: World’s Only Female Tribute to Iron Maiden.
