Da Da Da

Posted by shanoah on August 22, 2008

Given that I have no idea where to go from cornstarch, I decided to go with a theme of songs that have the words “Da Da Da” in the lyrics today.

There are a surprising number of them. Though the Trio song is probably the first one that comes to mind:

"Da Da Da I Don't Love You You Don't Love Me Aha Aha Aha"
 Trio (English/German version)

Catchy and mostly indecypherable lyrics. In fact, much like ‘99 Red Balloons‘, this is originally a German song, witness here:

"Da da da, ich lieb dich nicht du liebst mich nicht aha aha aha"
 Trio (German)

This song was from 1982, incidentally. It a fun song, if a one hit wonder.

Next, lets go to the Police:

De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da - The Police

I do like the police, even if I don’t neccessarily consider this their best song. And what exactly is the point of this music video, anyways?

And finally, let’s follow this up with a clip from Austin Powers 2:

Beautiful Stranger - Madonna

You know, Austin Powers 2, whatever you may think of it as a movie, had a really good soundtrack. I’ve got both cds of it. Besides this song, it had “I’m A Believer”, “Time of the season”, as well as They Might Be Giants (with “Dr Evil”), and others.

And I do like a number of Madonna’s more recent songs, including this song.
