Beach Party

Posted by shanoah on June 21, 2008

Thought I’d share a bunch of old LP’s from the sixties today.

Barbara Ann – The Regents (1961)

Here we are; The *original* version of Barbara Ann. Yeah, the Beach Boys cover is good, but just listen to the sax in this version.

Batman – Jan & Dean (1966)

From the duo who brought you “The Little Old Lady From Pasadena”, it’s Batman.

Speaking of Batman, there was some controversy for a while about how the one lady to have been Robin who died in the line of duty didn’t have a display case in the Batcave with her costume.

That has now been resolved; turns out she’s not dead.

The Gypsy Cried – Lou Christie (1963)

Another absolutely typical song of the era. “She Criiiiiiyiyiyiyiiiied“. Cheesy, but you know you like it…

Going Back – The Byrds (1967)

And who can forget the Byrds…
