Frankenstein

Posted by shanoah on June 9, 2008

Oh, I don’t know, it’s actually somewhat debatable whether Alice Cooper is evil. After all, one of his songs has the line “I ain’t evil; I’m just good looking”.

Good comes easier to me, but also, there are a lot more songs with good in the title then evil.

Of course, it’s even easier for me to find things with a theme of “It’s Alive! It’s Alive! My Glorious Creation!!!”; hence this post.

I decided to have a post of nothing but songs with the word “Frankenstein” in the title. Suprisingly, I came up with too many, and had to narrow it a bit:

Frankenstein – Edgar Winters Group

This is the instrumental “Frankenstein” to clips from the 1931 movie, Frankenstein, with Boris Karloff playing Frankenstein’s monster.

Frankenstein – Aimee Mann

This stop animation is by ikelmanink, and the actual song is Frankenstein by Aimee Mann. And I probably shouldn’t tell you how many times I’ve just played this song. Wow. I’m going to have to hunt up more of her music.

Dr. Frankenstein – Jack Savoretti

A rather nice song with good, positive messages. So, naturally, I’ll follow it up with this:

Teenage Frankenstein – Alice Cooper

Sure, I could have played “Feed My Frankenstein”, which I referenced earlier in this post, but I thought Teenage Frankenstein fit in better. Though I believe he mixes up Frankenstein with his monster at points in this song.

I nixed Scientist’s “Ghost of Frankenstein” for similar reasons, in fact.
