Of Bakers and Moonshine
Posted by shanoah on May 6, 2008
Nothing complicated today. Just various music that I like. All from between ‘69 and ‘79, in fact. First, let’s start with the Who. They sang this at Woodstock, but the sound quality seemed a little better on this copy:
Pinball Wizard – The Who
Wasn’t I hearing just the other day that there’s only one pinball company left? Ah well, we all have are heros, so this song will still be there even without pinball being ubiquitous…
Baker Street – Gerry Rafferty
What can I say about this song, really? It starts out with that great sax solo, and brings Baker Street to life in it’s lyrics. I have a best of Gerry Rafferty cd with this song on it, and practically every song is magic on it. Amazing how he just slips through the cracks. This song came out the year I was born, incidentally.
Sister Moonshine – Supertramp
And this song is from Supertramp’s “Crisis? What Crisis?“. Supertramp never gets old with me, really. Almost anything from while Roger Hodgeson was still with the band is good. The volumes a little low, so you may want to crank it a little. I may be a bit biased on this, though. You may recall that my bio says I spent a lot of time living in the Grass Valley/Nevada City? Roger Hodgson lives in the area, so I’ve seen him live.
