    Sean Daily is an English major from New Jersey now living in Las Vegas, the Other City of Lights. 4-17-08 Mike Oldfield – Five Miles Out

The Dusty Show on WFMU is mostly a spoken word show, but Clay Pigeon does spike some music into the proceedings. This is one that was on today: Five Miles Outthe title track off the 1982 album by Mike Oldfield (Wikipedia here). The song (so Wikipedia claims) is about a “near-tragic flight” that Oldfield was in and, once I read the lyrics, I knew I had to put it up here.

The video is filled with all kinds of early eighties MTV goofiness. Ah, my youth…
