Zeppelin

You know, I thought I’d post a few Led Zeppelin songs here. Funny thing, though; there have been an awful lot of Led Zeppelin covers, so only one of the videos I’m posting today is actually sung by Led Zeppelin.
As such, I may as well put the actual song sung by Led Zeppelin first:
Ramble On – Led Zeppelin (clip from the Hobbit; video by gordonjer)
Ramble On was always a great song, with plenty of Lord of the Rings references. I think the clips from the Hobbit that have been put to it make this interesting, as well.
Battle of Evermore – Ann & Nancy Wilson (live)
Battle of Evermore is probably one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs, and Ann & Nancy Wilson do such a great job of singing it. I’ve had a recording of this cover for quite a while. The lyrics also seem clearer when they sing them, and they have such great voices. No offense to Led Zeppelin, of course – I love the original as well.
Hey, What Can I Do / Kashmir – Dread Zeppelin (not live)
I almost feel like I’m saving the best for last here. Dread Zeppelin is a really out there band. A reggae band, with an Elvis impersonator as a lead singer, that mainly sing covers of Led Zeppelin, with occasional Elvis covers.
They so rock. I generally listen to their music, laughing a bunch on the first pass through, hearing what they did to the original, and then future passes I end up appreciating how awesome their version sounds.
It’s worth tracking them down. I cracked up so badly the first time I heard their version of Stairway to Heaven. Or Dy’er Maker…
