4-15-08 Joey Ramone – Stop Thinking About It

Posted by gavortnik on April 15, 2008

Most people remember April 15 because it’s the day that they lose some of their money to the government.

But for a select segment of the population, April 15 is the day of a far more significant loss: the day that Joey Ramone left this gravity well for a much, much better gig in 2001. Don’t believe me? Here’s his obit in the New York Fuckin’ Times. (Now, one might say that the Grey Lady and Joey Ramone occupy polar opposites of some kind of scale and, if you’re talking about early CBGB Joey Ramone, one would be right)

I was wandering around YouTube, looking for a good Joey Ramone song, when I found one that sounded like he wrote it just for me. If you know anything about my life, you’ll understand. This is Stop Thinking About It, off his only (and posthumous) solo album, Don’t Worry About Me, courtesy of Cverlaine.

BTW, thanks for WFMU’s Joe Belock for giving me the headsup on this.
