Alice on the Wall

Posted by shanoah on March 10, 2008

Here’s one of these oddities you occasionally run across. You may have heard that if you play “The Dark Side of the Moon” over “The Wizard of Oz”, that everything syncs up. That’s a bit overrated in my opinion, but it works.

Did you know the same thing was true of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, and “Alice In Wonderland”, though?

I haven’t watched the whole movie that way, but watching the this clip is amazing. Total coincidence, of course. It’s partially your mind playing tricks on you, of course. Your mind *wants* them to line up, and disregards anything that doesn’t match.

Awesome to watch, though. Of course, I like Alice in Wonderland, and Pink Floyd, so I may be biased…

It’s not a coincidence. If you watch the whole movie (found here: http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-7706417372630018062&hl=en) you find MANY similarities between the moods, tones, and even the lyrics of the songs. This website has a list of them all: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Amphitheatre/3528/pf_syncs/sync_pf_n.html

Im pretty convinced Pink Floyd wrote the album to coincide with the movie.
