2-11-08 Red Hot Chili Peppers – Higher Ground

One of the few good things about Las Vegas is that spring comes early. The air is calm, mild, with a hint of outdoor delights to come. I can already go to work without a coat and drive with the windows down, and the tree outside my house is already budding. It is a welcome gift from Mother Nature after the darkness – both of the sky and of the soul – of winter.
I think a little celebration is in order. So here’s some old Red Hot Chili Peppers from their nothing-but-socks-over-their-chili-peppers phase, before they started believing their own hype and got so dang serious… giving us hope, courage, youth and joy as they take us to the better view on the Higher Ground. And sorry, Stevie, but I just like the Chili Peppers’ version better. Nothing personal.
